About Judith Valerie

Yoga has been Judith’s livelihood since she moved to Raleigh in 1990. She remains in love with yoga after three decades of teaching experience.

Her classes offer you a welcoming, supportive, encouraging environment, along with a full range of practices. You’ll experience inspirational opportunities to move deeply into the ancient practice of yoga, with alignment details, constructive feedback, modifications for injuries, and information about the benefits of the pose for your mind and body.

You will have the opportunity to study with a master teacher in classes that strike a balance between well-known poses and new material, with mindful reminders to breathe and work within your own limits. The classes balance stretching with strengthening, and offer energizing practices along with deep guided relaxation.

Her classes include a focus on Yoga for Aging with Grace, whether you are thirty or eighty. She also weaves in bone strengthening, gentle Qi Gong flows, Pilates-influenced core strengthening, and a variety of meditation practices.

Judith was certified by the White Lotus Foundation in 1988 and at the 500-hour professional level through the Kripalu Center for Yoga in 2002. She has completed hatha yoga residential programs at the Satchidananda Yoga Center and the Himalayan Institute, and studied with an alignment-based Iyengar teacher for many years.

In addition to in-person weekly classes in North Raleigh, Judith also teaches on Zoom to provide interactive yoga classes in the comfort of your own home.
